UniStep has multiple institutional partnerships worldwide and leans on expertise gained through three decades of education leadership and delivery of training to thousands of globally mobile young learners.

The UniStep suite of programmes is built around the core of a nationally recognised Australian qualification called 11240NAT Certificate IV in Adult Tertiary Preparation with Humanities and Science stream options.

All students enrolled in the UOP programmes will be provided with access to UniStep’s Learning Management System (LMS) so students can conduct self-study, submit assignments, and access course materials online.

UniStep’s experienced academic team works closely with Delivery Partners to customise the training options to perfectly suit the Delivery Partner’s intended student cohort.
What is a UniStep Overseas Programme Delivery Partner ?
UniStep International Overseas Programmes are specifically designed to be delivered outside Australia in collaboration with Delivery Partners. A Delivery Partner will generally be a high school, college or university where English is not the standard medium of instruction.
UniStep programmes must be delivered by Delivery Partners approved and supervised by UniStep to ensure that the quality of training and assessment exactly matches the requirements of the Australian education regulators.

Creating Opportunities through Partnership
UniStep has various forms of cooperation agreements with over hundreds of universities, vocational schools, language schools, and primary and secondary schools in China, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, and Thailand. In 2023, under the Shafston International College brand, a campus was opened in Dalian, China. With extensive experience in international educational cooperation projects, UniStep is ideally positioned to collaborate with non-English speaking colleges, universities, preparatory centres, and schools to bring innovative pathway opportunities to the next generation of young, globally minded learners.
UniStep encourages a collaborative approach to creating opportunities for young learners to expand their horizons and equip themselves for success. The UniStep UOP course structure is flexible enough to adapt to suit a variety of delivery models, ensuring that partnering institutions and their students find the UniStep experience positive and rewarding.
For English speaking institutions, UniStep offers the opportunity of a large network of training partners and representatives in over 70 countries along with the confidence of a Certificate IV in Adult Tertiary Preparation delivered to exacting standards.
The programme encompasses a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge for a variety of tertiary education programs. This course includes the aforementioned Language & Learning (English), and General Mathematics Units of Competency.
These units are designed to meet the academic standards required for entry into Bachelor level programs, with careful consideration given to the needs and backgrounds of our international student cohort. Each unit of competency has been selected in line with the packaging rules and has been written to address the specific challenges and required competencies that international students are likely to encounter when transitioning to tertiary education in Australia.
Our Certificate IV in Adult Tertiary Preparation integrates both a GPA and a Competency-based grading system, designed to closely align with the rigorous learning and assessment standards of English speaking higher education environments. Within this framework, competency is set at a GPA of 4.0, but students have the opportunity to excel and achieve up to a GPA of 7.0.
This dual grading system offers a more in-depth evaluation approach. Students earn a GPA based on their overall academic performance across assessments, Units of Competency, and the entirety of the course, providing a quantitative and comprehensive measure of their achievement. This grading system is more than just a means of assessing Competency; it serves as a framework for student development and fosters a culture of academic excellence, a culture that they will carry into their future studies in an adult tertiary environment. This programme is of a high quality and will provide graduates with a solid foundation for success in their future studies.
